Kennet School, West Berkshire

Oli studied jazz and percussion at Guildhall School of Music and Drama.  He has many years of experience in drumming for jazz, rock, pop and musical theatre projects.  Oli is keen on anything band-related, having also regularly played keyboards, guitar and vocals in various live acts.  He especially enjoys all aspects of composition and arranging, especially when it comes to adapting music and creating parts for young musicians to play. Oli loves to teach composition skills and show pupils how to develop their musical ideas.  A confident singer, Oli really enjoys the challenge of helping teenagers find vocal strength as their voices are going through change. This comes through carefully selecting and arranging music to be sung in the classroom and is an area to be further researched, explored and developed.

Oli  is an experienced ECT mentor, and has led Whole Staff INSET on Singing for Wellbeing.  He can support with classroom singing, composition (KS3 and KS4/5), planning effective schemes of work, and assessment at KS3.
