What to expect in the auditions
- Perform one piece of the student’s choice (no longer than 2 minutes long)
- Sight read a small excerpt that will be given to the student on the day
- Have an informal chat with the panel about their musical development and aspirations.
To ensure students are placed in the correct ensemble and desk for their musical development, our expert musicians must be able to hear them play. Our teachers strive to create friendly and comfortable audition environments so that our young people have the best possible experience. We will also include time in the audition process to speak to our young people about their musical development and preferences.
If there is any way we can support your child to feel as comfortable as possible through our audition process, please do get in touch.
Any questions, please email Jess at jessicawilkins@berksmusictrust.org.uk
