Symphonic Storyquest

Our Symphonic StoryQuest concert at The Hexagon on Wednesday 1 July 2026, will take a magical musical tour through stories and books, inspiring a love of reading and music and linking with the National Year of Reading 2026. Repertoire will include How To Train Your Dragon, Harry Potter, In The Hall of the Mountain King, Beauty and The Beast, Grasswalk from Planets vs Zombies and Defying Gravity.

This special event will bring together over a thousand young people from across Berkshire to experience the excitement and inspiration of a live orchestral performance. For many children, this will be their very first encounter with a full orchestra — an opportunity designed to spark creativity, nurture confidence, and support their musical and personal development as well as encouraging a love of reading and books. Around 150 primary school children will also be joining with the orchestra to perform on their own instruments.
