We have listened to your feedback!

At Berkshire Music Trust, we are always looking for ways to improve the experience we provide for our students and families. Over recent years, we have received feedback from a number of parents and carers regarding our Late Notice Fee, which is charged when a student is withdrawn after the published notice deadline.

Having reviewed this feedback, we are pleased to let you know that we have made a change to our policy.

From 31 October 2026, our existing Late Notice Fee will be replaced with a fixed £30 administrative fee for late withdrawal requests.

This administrative fee helps cover the work involved in updating lesson timetables, teacher allocations and student records when changes are made after planning for the following term has already taken place. Importantly, this means that families will no longer be charged a fee based on a proportion of future lesson costs.

Our withdrawal deadlines themselves have not changed, as we still need sufficient notice to plan staffing, lesson groups and room allocations effectively. However, we believe this revised approach is simpler, more transparent, and more proportionate.

As a charity, we value the feedback we receive from our families and are grateful to everyone who has taken the time to share their views with us. Listening to our customers helps us improve both the services we offer and the way we deliver them.

Thank you for being part of the Berkshire Music Trust community.
