Young Sounds Connector
We know that it is sometimes difficult for families and young musicians to find the information, advice and guidance they need for their musical development. Our Young Sounds Music Connector, Alex Baggs, can help offer support for young musicians, especially those facing barriers to accessing musical opportunities.
With extensive knowledge of the local musical landscape, Alex helps to connect young musicians with opportunities and advice, ranging from music groups to funding.

Meet Alexandra Baggs
Find out moreMusic has always played a central role in my life — from singing in primary school to learning the piano, clarinet, saxophone, and flute. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of performing with a wide range of musical groups, building lasting friendships, and discovering a deep passion for music.
I studied at Leeds College of Music before completing my teacher training at the University of Huddersfield. I began my teaching career as a woodwind teacher with Wakefield Music Service. More recently, I was Head of Woodwind at a boarding school, and I now teach woodwind instruments to students of all ages with Berkshire Music Trust, alongside conducting bands.
I’m delighted to be working with Young Sounds as a Connector. Music plays such an important role in young people’s lives, and in this position I aim to help them access the right opportunities across Berkshire — whether that’s finding a teacher, joining a band, or exploring funding options — so they can develop and fulfil their musical potential.
